In Case You Missed It…

Our newest member got inducted into the club last Friday - welcome Dennis Burns!

Next Volunteer Opportunity:

A Return to the Raptor Center!

Do you remember the speaker about the Blackland Prairie Raptor Center in Lucas, Texas?  Or were you one of the Rotary group that went to volunteer last spring?  Well, because of popular demand, we are going back!  And they are thrilled to have us.  We will probably be doing the same thing as last year (making enrichment items for the birds) because honestly it sounded better than cleaning kennels or weeding to me.  The date: Saturday, April 25 from 9am to noon. Mark your calendars!  Note:  The Raptor Center is near Lake Lavon, southeast of Allen and north of Wylie.  Please email Laurie if you would like to participate or sign up on ClubRunner events.

                Notes From David

Club Leadership Training

We are set for club leadership training on Saturday. Cathy Zelzer will attend the Foundation Training (thank you, Cathy!) thereby ensuring our ability to get a District Matching Grant next year. Keith, Dan, Michael, and I will also attend. For those of you on the club board next year, there is a lot of information and training available. Check it out: https://rotary5810.org/events/2026-club-leadership-training-assembly/

Membership Growth

We've had some great people join as members recently – Barry Roop, Nancy Smith, and Dennis Burns.  That puts us at 8% growth for the year. Our goal is 15%. I anticipate that we will lose 1-3 members by the end of the year, we almost always do. So, if you know anyone who should join our club (that should be a long list, right?) ask them to visit us. Thank you to all of you who invite people to join us and everyone who makes our club such a welcoming and friendly group.

The Bulletin

Thank you to John for volunteering to do the bulletin for the next two weeks while Laurie is unavailable. Also, thank you to Laurie for doing the bulletin for 2 years, and for making it a fun and interesting bulletin.

Return to the Raptor Center

I know Laurie covered more of this elsewhere, but I'm happy we're going back to the Raptor Center. We'll get to see and learn about Raptors. It's a day outside in what will likely be beautiful weather and our volunteer activity there will be fun. Bonus: you get more time with our interesting members!

Why Join The Addison Rotary?
