Installation Banquet – Thursday June 25

On the evening of June 25 we will gather to have a delicious meal in the private dining room at Ruth's Chris, recognize some of our outstanding members, and induct our new board of directors, and president. RSVP to Fritzie.

Two More Volunteers Needed!

Join us for our final community service opportunity of the Rotary year, on Monday June 8 from 1pm to 3:30pm.  We are rescheduling the Metrocrest Food Pantry volunteer outing that was cancelled for bad weather back in January.  We can send up to 6 people. We will stock the pantry shelves, help clients with their carts, and work in the back preparing the food for shelving.

                Notes From David

Janet Did It Again!

Janet Meyer had another great letter to the editor about us published in Saturday's Dallas Morning News. Mary Bedosky, our District Governor, saw the letter and emailed me. “Love this! Great way to start the day today!”

It's wonderful PR, and another of many ways we are a unique club. Thank you, Janet! I guess I should also thank Charlie, Ashton, Nicole, and Josh for “creating” this PR opportunity! And don't forget – Malyssa and Taylor are expecting their second child. What a special time this is for our club!

Prospective Members Visiting

We should see a few prospective members visiting over the next few meetings. We are always a friendly, welcoming club, and get great reviews from visitors. Keep it up! Please make sure our visitors meet a few members and get plenty of good conversation. If you see a visitor sitting or standing alone, please go over to them, introduce yourself, and chat them up.

Trivia answer:  A new type of Rotary club with less emphasis on the traditional meeting over a meal.  It is intended for persons with less time or tighter finances for meals but still having the interest in community service.  There are occasional meetings (in person or online) but members are encouraged to attend other Rotary club meetings (the “passport”) and also try to do frequent community service projects on their own.   Source = April 2026 Rotary magazine and ClubRunner
